Homemade Pizza

During the past few years, many restaurants have responded to the growing demand for gluten free cuisine. Talented chefs are catering more to individual needs and now offer allergy friendly dishes on popular menus. Fortunately, there are plenty of Bay Area pizza places with gf options. And although going out is always nice, staying in can be just as fun! Making your own pizza is a great option and will save you some dough :) Try this recipe for a thin, crispy crust:

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups brown rice flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well
  3. Roll batter into a large ball and spread evenly (to about 1/4-inch thick) on a prepared baking sheet
  4. Bake crust for 15 minutes and remove from oven
  5. Add sauce, cheese, and desired toppings*
  6. Bake for another 10 minutes (for a crispier crust, bake for another 5-10 minutes)
*I topped my pizza with feta cheese and fresh veggies: sliced tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, onions, spinach and red peppers
