GF Brownies: Boxed-Mix Round Up

From steamy hot cocoa to frozen fudgsicles, chocolate impresses in every form. And it's usually gluten free! Except when mixed into tempting baked goods :(

Too often, wheat flour ruins the deal for gf eaters. Fortunately, an increasing number of boxed-mixes are hitting the market, popping up in many mainstream grocers and speciatly stores. When time is short, these mixes are the answer to our decadent prayers.

I've tried my share of brownies (both gf and non-gf), so I have high standards for these chocolately treats. Determined to find the perfect store-bought brownie mix, I grabbed as many as I could fit into my basket (and afford!). Here are the winners...

Best All-Round: Betty Crocker

Rich and Fudgy: Pamela's

Best Texture: Gluten Free Pantry

Since most mixes only call for sugar, eggs, milk, or oil, It's fun to experiment with substituting different ingredients. (I love swapping white sugar with Agave) Getting creative with different milks and sweeteners is a great way to make something your own. If you discover an awesome swap, be sure to share it with us!
