Being gluten free is a commitment. It takes an undeniable amount of strength and courage. Resisting temptations and cravings is no easy feat-especially when all your friends are enjoying delicious treats right in front of you! It's understandable to feel left out when you're unable to join them.
But focusing on the negative gets you nowhere. I learned that the hard way. So I thought I'd save you some grief by passing along a little advice. instead of dwelling on what you can't do, redirect your focus. Remember that being GF is ultimately a choice. You're choosing to do this for your health. This is your decision. Own it.
Find empowerment in your choices. Be happy that you're taking the necessary steps to feel better. Yes, it would be nice to be able to eat anything at anytime. But personally, I feel so much better without gluten in my system. And that's a fact.
The temptations don't go away, but they do become less frequent over time. Honestly, I've gotten so used to avoiding gluten that I barely ever feel like I'm missing out on anything...except intense fatigue and horrible migraines ;)
