There’s something about cupcakes that’s hard to resist. Whether it’s the fluffy cake, creamy frosting or delicate accents…they have an undeniably sweet appeal and
an equally sweet taste.
When I was still eating gluten, I used to stop at Teacake Bake Shop for an afternoon treat (East Bay locations in Lafayette and Emeryville).
The cutesy café has fresh cookies in flavors like chewy ginger and zesty lemon.
I decided to pop in for old time’s sake and was surprised to
discover a gluten free cupcake! They only offer one flavor, but it’s a step up
compared to a lot of regular bakeries. Teacake’s vanilla almond cupcake is
filled with a sweet paste and topped with whipped buttercream frosting. Simply
put, this one is worth a try.
